The Court of McKinney is McKinney's premier public tennis facility with a fully servicing pro shop, showers, meeting room, outdoor viewing patio and 11 pristine hard courts. We currently are under construction adding 12 new outdoor courts. With 23 courts scheduled to be completed Dec 2018 this former No.1 Tennis facility in the U.S., The Courts will be the largest outdoor tennis facility in the region.

It is our goal to enhance the playing experience for all players from the beginner to advanced-level. We offer a multitude of tennis services from classes for adult and juniors from beginners to advanced players. We also offer private lessons, ball machine rentals, drop in play, leagues, tournaments and social events. Our pro shop products include clothing, shoes, racquets, free loaner racquets, snacks, and a racquet technician who will string and repair your equipment. The Courts offers an online court and class reservation system for a drop in fee or a monthly unlimited court use membership for only $15 a month.  Our staff are experienced, certified, and excited about helping with your tennis needs. Matt Hanlin

Lifetime President

Matt is a lifelong tennis player and enthusiast. His passion for tennis has remained strong since spending 7 years as a junior  player at the prestigious Bollettieri Tennis Academy. He was a regular practice partner to Venus and Serena Williams, Monica Seles, Michael Chang, Tommy Haas and other professionals. Matt achieved All American status at the University of Washington; along with a degree in Marketing and Advertising. As a touring professional, he travelled to more than 40 countries and became a top 400 ATP singles player. As a USPTA Elite credentialed professional, he has coached, supervised and managed programs (youth and adult) in some of the country’s finest private and public venues. Matt is excited to help build a thriving tennis center that the community will be proud of. Matt also oversees the tennis management at The Courts of McKinney and the McLeland Tennis Center.

Dawn Rochelle

General Manager:

Dawn joined The Courts of McKinney as Facility Manager in December 2016.  Born and raised in Southern California, she spent  the majority of her career there in the hospitality and customer service fields.   She brings to The Courts a vast knowledge of Marketing  from her prior jobs at both Club Corp and Century Golf Partners.  She is  very active in the community and is an avid tennis player.  She resides in McKinney with her husband and mixed doubles partner, Layne Fletcher, along with daughter Nicole and sons Devin and Brandon.   


Bill Shaw

Director of Junior Tennis:

Bill has achieved a lot in his 25 years of coaching including Texas USPTA Pro of The Year. He was former Director of Junior Development at a nearby academy and brings great experience to the team. Bill was a collegiate national champion and All-American and uses this experience to pass onto the next generation. He has coached thousands of kids with many going on to play college tennis. Bill loves working with all players especially juniors with as much energy as he brings to the courts.

Dan Silverstein

Adult Director

Dan is the newest addition to the staff at The Courts and is already making an impact on our adult program. Dan has been a collegiate Head Coach, Ladies Director, and Director of Tennis in Dallas and NY. He brings 15 years of adult programming experience and is excited about the future of our adult program. His passion and energy for the game of tennis is contagious and he enjoys teaching all levels of players.  Dan played collegiate tennis at Univ. of Pittsburgh and Slippery Rock Univ.  His wife Natalia is also a tennis professional as she is the Ladies Director at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas.

$75 per hr. for Private Lessons

Nurudeen Isa

Tennis Professional:

Nurudeen began working at The Courts in July 2018.  He was born and raised in Nigeria and was ranked  as high as #1 in Men's Doubles and #5 in Men's Singles.  He has represented Nigeria at the World University Games in Italy, Spain and China and has played in several National Leagues in Europe.  Nurudeen was also the Davis Cup Coach for Nigeria in 2002/2003.  In 2010-2012 he was the Tennis Coach at The University of East London.  From there he was the Director of Junior Tennis at Genesis Health Club in Kansas from 2012-2015.  Nurudeen is USPTR and ITF qualified and has esperience in teaching both adults and juniors.  He resides in Wylie with his wife and three children.

Mark Vos

Director of High Performance:

Former Head of Junior Player Development at High Point Tennis Center and former Head Pro of Atkins Tennis Center at the University of Illinois. Mark has developed and coached Collegiate, National and International Champions. He has had juniors go on to top colleges throughout the U.S.  In addition, he has worked as a traveling coach for both junior and professional players. He is also a Hall of Fame collegiate tennis player.  Mark’s area of expertise is in player development.

$80 per hr for Private Lessons


Chris Jimenez

Tennis Professional:

Chris is a PTR certified instructor who started working at The Courts in February 2020. He was born and raised in Queens, NYC. As a junior, he was ranked top 120 nationally during his junior and senior years of high school. Following his junior tennis, Chris was a Division 1 All-Conference player for Saint Francis University in Pittsburgh, PA. There he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management and later achieved a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Chris has 8 years of coaching experience and enjoys developing tennis players of all ages, while making sure everyone has fun in the process. 


Matthew Vos

Tennis Professional:

Born in Tennessee, Matthew moved to Dallas in 2009 and grew up competing in the Texas section as a Super Champ and nationally ranked player. After juniors he has continued to pursue a playing career on the ITF World Tour professional circuit and currently holds a place on the USTA Men's national top 500 list as well as being ranked inside the top 5 in the Men's Open Texas section. He has trained and competed with players on the ATP tour, nationally and internationally ranked juniors, and D1, 2, and 3 collegiate players. In addition, he is a PTR certified coach and has developed juniors from beginner to super champ level. Matthew takes pride in holding his students to a world class standard of discipline and seeks to go beyond the tennis court to have a positive effect on every student's future.


Amanda Vos

Tennis Professional:

NAmanda started tennis lessons at the age of 3 and fell in love with the sport. She started playing competitively when she was 9 years old, competed as a Super Champ after moving to Texas in 2009 and also has experience playing on the ITF world tour. Amanda has always been very focused on her tennis & has a world class mindset towards all the aspects of tennis training. She is a PTR certified professional with 6 years of coaching experience and has worked with players of all levels and ages. Amanda enjoys teaching kids how to play the game and helping them achieve their tennis goals.

Melissa Vos

Tennis Professional:

Malissa is passionate about playing and coaching tennis. As a player, she competed throughout her junior career in the Texas section and continues to compete in adult sectionals as well as on ITF tour.Growing up on the tennis court by her father/coach’s side, Malissa has gained a lot of insight in how to develop players in many areas from techniques to tactics to movement. In addition she is a PTR certified coach and has been working with young players for 4 years.Malissa is looking forward to this new journey at the COM.

Dominick Greco

PickleBall Coach:

Dominick has been playing and coaching Pickleball for 15 years.  He is an eight time U.S. Midsouth Regional Pickleball Champion.  He has won multiple State Pickleball Championships in Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.  

He has been the personal coach for multiple National Champions and has coached over 20 Regional Champions, as well.

Dominick and his wife reside in Richardson, TX and he enjoys playing Pickleball with his family and especially his father who is a National Champion.

Zach Exton

PickleBall Coach:

Zach brings an extraordinary level of energy and enthusiasm for pickleball to The Courts of McKinney. Between his PPR coaching certification and his history with youth pickleball programming, he is equipped to offer a wonderful experience for players across all ages. Whether you are brand new and looking for an introduction to the sport, or an established player seeking improvement, Zach is available to provide you with a valuable, enjoyable experience that you won't soon forget.

James Van Hooker

Tennis Professional:

James is a USPTA Professional and outstanding player. He moved from coaching at a club in Wantage N.J. to join us here in McKinney in October of 2017.  He currently works with junior programs and adults. He is passionate about helping anyone willing to learn our great game.

Craig Weymer

Tennis Professional:

Craig Weymer started working for The Courts in 2013.  Craig has worked as Tennis Director of a public tennis facility in Cape Coral. FL for several years before moving to Texas and working for Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco. He has coached at several facilities around the country and also worked in Corporate America for State Farm Insurance. 

Craig was a former Super champ junior player and #1 for Plano Sr. High. He brings great energy and attention to detail that makes any adult player feel excited about improving

Ondrej Nice 

Tennis Professional:

Ondrej started working at The Courts in July 2019. He was born and raised in Czech Republic. As a junior, he was ranked top 10 in his age every single year. He began his collegiate tennis career at Seward County CC and later transferred to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree with a major in Kinesiology/Coaching. During his college career, Ondrej won the ITA National Championships in doubles and was named an ITA All-American twice. Ondrej has 7 years of coaching experience and holds a coaching certificate in his country and is a PTR Professional for ages 11-17. Tennis is everything to him and he aims to bring his passion for the game to everyone who crosses his path.

$75/hour for private lessons


Carlos Hawley

Tennis Professional:

Carlos is a PTR certified instructor who recently moved to McKinney. He is a lifelong tennis player who played his junior tennis in the Missouri Valley region, winning several championships and earning a number 1 ranking in the state of Iowa. Following his junior tennis, Carlos was All-Conference while playing his college tennis at the University of Nebraska Kearney. He enjoys coaching tennis players of all ages and levels and sees tennis as a healthy lifestyle choice.

$75 per hr for Private Lessons

Fred Shlesinger

Tennis Professional:

Fred Shlesinger is a true Tennis veteran who  brings to our Courts of McKinney decades of tennis experience along with a deep rooted  passion for teaching and coaching our great game.
Coach Fred had been very active in the DFW Tennis community for over 15 years as a coach,  mentor, Board member, team Captain( TCD & USTA)and competitive player .
He is an active member of the USPTA,SAFE PLAY Certified, and has served on the USTA Diversity & Inclusion committee in the past.
We are excited to have Fred on our teaching staff, and look forward to having him work with you and your family to  further develop your  mental and fundamental tennis game.
