2019 Summer Camp Info
Due to the ever growing number of campers in our Summer Camps at The Courts, we have provided a little bit of information we think you should know about.
From checking in to checking out, your camper’s safety is first and foremost concern. To help us with this, here is some information we want you to know ahead of time:
MONDAY CHECK-IN will begin at 8:30 am.
Your child will receive a name tag, tennis racket (if they are under 10), a t-shirt and a wrist band for some camps. After check-in they will be directed where to sit and wait for Coach Bill’s introduction and instructions. After Monday, check in is at 8:45. If your child is dropped off before then, you will be charged $5 for early drop off each day. Pick up times vary for each camp. If your child is picked up more than 15 minutes after their camp ends, you will also be charged a $5 late pick up fee each day.
Check Out: All Campers must be signed out by an adult. We cannot release children without Mom or Dad's signature. This is for the safety of your child and we apologize if this is an inconvenience. If someone other than the person dropping off your child is picking them up, we will need a note signed by the parent at sign in that morning. No exceptions.
Tennis Only Campers - Please make sure your child is wearing sunscreen each day and brings a water jug (something more substantial than a bottle). A hat or visor is also helpful. Proper shoes (non-marking soles) are mandatory and no jeans please. It is very hot on the tennis courts and it is important to have your child dressed appropriately for the heat. It is also a good idea to have all items labeled with your child’s name in case something is left behind. In the event of rain, allTennis ONLY Camps will be cancelled. We will post on Facebook if we cancel Tennis Camps. Our Facebook Page is called: Courts of McKinney Tennis Center.
We do not post rain outs on our website. ONLY Facebook and Twitter.
All Day Campers – The first part of your camp is spent on the tennis courts. Please make sure your child is wearing sunscreen each day and brings a water jug (something more substantial than a bottle). A hat or visor is also helpful. Proper shoes (non-marking soles) are mandatory and no jeans please. It is very hot on the tennis courts and it is important to have your child dressed appropriately for the heat. Your child should also come with a swimsuit, towel, sandals, additional sunscreen for the pool and a change of clothing for after swimming. It is a good idea to have all items labeled with your child’s name in case something is left behind.
In the Event of Rain: If it should rain, All Day Camp, Half Day Camp and Kinder Camp is still held indoors. Please do not expect a make up for rain for these camps.
All Day Camp Lunch Menu:
Monday – Chicken Nuggets
Tuesday – Turkey and Ham Sandwiches
Wednesday – Hamburgers
Thursday – Corn Dogs (contains beef, pork and turkey)
Friday – Pizza and Ice Cream Party
All lunches also include chips, fruit and cookies. If your child is a picky eater or has ANY special dietary requirements, please provide a lunch for them. There are no “other” options for them during summer camp.
Snacks that we may provide: Graham Crackers, Sliced Bananas, Apple Slices, Animal Crackers, String Cheese, Pretzels.
Transportation to the Apex Center for Swimming: Transportation to the Apex Center is provided by the staff at The Courts and will comply with the speed limit and traffic regulations for the Gabe Nesbitt Park.
Movie Time: Movie time is held after swimming. The majority of our campers are pretty exhausted during this time and are happy to relax after a long day of tennis, swimming and sports. The movie chosen is always rated PG. Popcorn is provided. If your child is not interested in the movie, we have a variety of board games and card games for them to enjoy during this time, as well. If staff and courts are available, more tennis may also be an option.
Please note: We do have drinks and snacks for purchase in the Pro Shop. Many parents often put a few dollars on their child’s account for these items. It is best not to send your child with cash as this is often lost or misplaced during the day.
** Our lost and found will be on display every Monday upon camp check in. After Monday, all unclaimed items will be donated.
If you have questions on anything not covered in this letter, please feel free to call The Courts between 9 am and 5 pm at 972-547-2012.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!
